RunB4Wine 5K is in memory of 4 month old Big Brave Benjamin Bruce who went home to heaven for healing after fighting a heroic battle against an enterovirus which caused his liver to fail. Proceeds go to the Big Brave Benjamin Bruce fund which assists families of chronically ill children at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s hospital pediatric ICU. Like Benjamin, many babies and children at the U of M Masonic have been diagnosed with potentially fatal illnesses and their hospital stay is likely to extend over several months. The medical teams at the U of M Masonic put tremendous effort into saving the lives of children, often using medications and treatments which have never been tried before.
RunB4Wine 5K route will be on pavement, gravel/dirt/grass trails throughout beautiful Round Lake Vineyards and near the scenic Round Lake lake shore. One water station will be located along the route. No packet pick-up is required, registration will be confirmed via check-in starting at 10:00 am on race day. This is not a timed event, but medals will be given for both male and female overall 1st place finishers in the child (under age 18), adult (under age 55) and senior (over age 55) categories.
Participants and their families & friends are welcome to attend a serene lakeside ecumenical sunrise service at 9:00 am with coffee, juice, bagels provided until walk/run start time. The full line of Round Lake Vineyards wine will be for sale at the event, along with a variety of merchandise.
