June 15 & 16 | Weaving Baskets
This course will allow students to explore techniques of
weaving as instructors guide them through the process of making
a small basket.
June 22 & 23 | Clay Pendent Lights
Learn how to build your very own slab vase that you design and
carve to create a pendant light lampshade. Pieces will be glazed,
dry, and fired in the kiln for pick up approximately 1 1/2 weeks
after the class date. Students will go home with their very own plugin ceramic pendant light.
July 6 & 7 | Wool Felted Textile Collage
Learn the process of needle felting in this two-day course where
an instructor will guide you through the process of making your own
July 13 & 14| Clay Coiled Sculptures
Create a unique piece of ceramic art by learning how to hand-roll
the perfect clay coil and use the extruder machine. Students will
create an organic or geometric form of their choosing. Pieces will
be left to dry and be fired in the kiln for pick up approximately 1
1/2 weeks after the class date.
July 20 & 21| Encaustic Painting on Recycled Records
Paint with hot wax by process of encaustic onto a unique surface vintage vinyl records! Students will explore the use of encaustic
medium, layering effects, and collage possibilities in this two-day
August 3 & 4 | Abstract Paintings on Canvas with Gold Leaf!
On a 16×20″ canvas, create beautiful layers of acrylic color by
learning to acrylic pour, float, and use unique tools to create
depth. Students will explore the process of gold leafing to create
further detail. Pieces will be ready to bring home a piece and hang
on the wall!
