Why Should YOU Belong to the Chamber?

You prosper as our area prospers.  By helping to build a thriving area, your investment is strengthened and your opportunities are broadened.

Progress and prosperity depends on the development of a sound and economic social structure.  These result from aggressive programs and activities designed to cultivate opportunities and capitalize on advantages.

These goals can be reached only by a UNITED EFFORT through an organization equipped to study and conduct a sound program of area progress.

The Iowa Great Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce is the leading organization consistently engaged in promoting the civic and economic development of our area.

Hear from our President, Erin Davelaar (Mammoth Marketing):

“When you decide to be a part of the Iowa Great Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce, you decide to work toward a common cause of making the Iowa Great Lakes area better for all. Chamber membership is an investment into your business and into the shared future of the community. Funding for our Chamber programs is financed through membership investments and contributions, which allow us to act as advocates for our members. We support our members in a variety of ways, from bringing visitors and guests to the area for events such as the University of Okoboji Winter Games and Oktoberfest, Walleye Weekend and the Fourth of July fireworks, to connecting businesses through member-to- member events and providing opportunities to meet with our local legislators.

Research suggests that consumers are more likely to do business with a company if it’s a member of their local chamber of commerce. This could be because it shows a willingness of the business owner to partner with others and provides visibility and credibility to the business. Getting involved with the Chamber helps business owners and employees to make business contacts and acquire customer referrals. To gain the most out of your Chamber membership, involvement is key. The Chamber offers many networking and volunteer opportunities for members to take advantage of, which provide building blocks for a stronger community. The community working together for the greater good ensures our area will continue to be a draw to residents and visitors alike in the future.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the Chamber staff for their hard work, the board members for the time and effort they put in to leading the direction of the Chamber and all the Commodores and volunteers who make the programming and events a possibility. It is truly a collective effort and we are all committed to continuing to see the Iowa Great Lakes region grow and succeed. If you aren’t currently a member of the Chamber, I encourage you to contact any of the staff or board members for information.

Investing in the Chamber is an investment into your future!”
